The House

After the wedding we went to the property. Molly was hilarious as she ran around with no pants and crazy hair. She loved throwing rocks off the form boards and finding new ones. Uncle Barrie and Aunt Jan came with us and Blake explained the plans. We all visualized the final product and got super excited! There is a pond right in front of the house that hasn't been filled yet but is going to look GORGEOUS when it's finished! I can't wait for my parents and grandma to move down!

The Wedding!

I thought I would do a blog post on our road trip back to Dallas. It will hopefully kill an hour out of our 4.5 hour drive! Molly is asleep in the backseat exhausted from the hot weather and crazy weekend fun.

We pulled into Houston Friday morning and went to my parent's hotel to hang out. It was so fun to see everyone especially my brother Brian and his family. We hadn't seen them in almost a year and a half. Molly had never met her cousins Matthew and Daniel. Now they are joined at the hip with Matthew and Daniel asking, "Can I play with Molly?" They were so good with her and gave her the best weekend ever! Matthew and Daniel would sit down with her and make faces for hours while she laughed and laughed (see pic below).

Friday night there was a dinner at Tyler's favorite restaurant Mission Burrito. It was super casual and a lot of fun. Tyler's friends from college came down and it was fun to catch up with them as well. We celebrated the night with chips and queso, guacamole, salsa and every other spicy thing! After the dinner Blake, Molly and I went to our friend's house who we met in Tampa to crash for the night. They are always a blast so we ended up chatting till the wee hours of the night and crawling into bed EXHAUSTED. It was no surprise that Molly slept through the night.

Saturday was the wedding and we met at the temple early. It was a beautiful ceremony and I was crying tears of joy. I couldn't be more excited for Tyler and Andrea. We took pictures outside and then met at the Rose Garden at six. Andrea's family are not members of the church so a ring ceremony was performed in the rose garden. They laid down a white carpet for Andrea to walk down on and flower girls led the way sprinkling rose petals. It was beautiful.

I loved Tyler and Andrea's theme colors... wildflowers of every kind. The banquet hall was covered in flowers of every shape and color.

For those of you who do not know my grandmother, she is a wedding dress designer and absolutely amazing!! She made Andrea's dress as well as my own (I will have to post a pic of mine later). She used the finest fabrics on Andrea's dress and made it look as though it was one seamless piece of fabric. If purchased in a store, I'm sure it would run up to $7,000-$10,000 having been custom made to fit her body. It was GORGEOUS! We are so lucky to have such a talented lady in our family!

Happy Birthday Mom!

If anyone knows me, they would agree that my mom is my best friend. A day doesn't go by that we haven't talked on the phone at least three times. Blake thinks it's funny that we call each other for every little thing. But when you have someone so special in your life, you want to share every little thing. I'm so excited that they are moving to Texas! Now I can go visit at least twice a month.

Happy Birthday mom, I hope you had a wonderful day... I love you!

midnight madness

I have a crazy husband, but that's why I love him!!

At eight thirty last night Blake and I were watching an episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond". In the show Marie Barone was baking a two layer chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Immediately our mouths started salivating. Blake couldn't get this cake out of his head. I told him I was not in the mood to run to the store and buy a cake mix at 8:30 PM. So he ran to the cupboard, got the cocoa and said he would make it from scratch. Yes, my husband finished a two layer chocolate cake from scratch at 10 PM.

He is amazing because this cake was DELICIOUS! I love you Blake!

I think I'll have a piece for breakfast... excuse me.

My TV Crush

I had a VERY exciting day yesterday! I went to Williams Sonoma with my mother-in-law and met my most favorite chef... yes, Bobby Flay!! We had to stand in line for 2 hours for him to sign our cookbooks but it was worth it. I even got my picture taken with him, although I was in the middle of asking, "is it working???". So I don't have a smile, but I don't care. I met Bobby Flay!! Molly looks great in the photo.

Too Smart for Mommy!

Today I found Molly in Zoe's crate with my book. She got inside and closed the door before pretending to read each page in "Suite Francaise". She's our little reader, but I didn't think she was actually interested in historical fiction!

Then I found Molly putting her smarts to the task. She has been plotting against the hall gate ever since she started walking and finally found a solution. With the help of the Bumbo, she can get high enough to swing her leg over and dig her toes into the fencing. The gate only buys me time now. Notice Zoe in the background... there is always and accomplice!

The Birthday Extravaganza!!

I thought I would post a few pictures of Molly's birthday party. We went over to Grandma and Granpop's house and had a party with our close church friends and family. I was estatic to see two of my close friends Autie and Sherry show up for the party. I guess they heard how much fun it would be and was!!! Molly got a red wagon from Nana (my mom) and Grandpa Smith and a play house from Grandma Libby and Grandpop. She had a blast playing with those at the party. Everyone had a great time!!
