My Little Snow Angel

Blake took some adorable pictures of our little snow angel... he's a great photographer! We will post some new pics of our other little angel, Porter, later.

PS: Don't make fun of our Texas snow, we love it!

He's Finally Here!

Well, I know I complained and complained about how this day would never come, but it finally did! Can you believe it? Time actually DOES move when you're pregnant!

8 lbs. 8 oz. 20.5 inches

We went into the hospital at 6 AM and started paperwork, IVs, etc. At eight they took me back into the O.R. and started my spinal... not so comfortable, but definitely necessary. I hated the tingling sensation that lasted about 15 minutes before it fully kicked in. It felt like I had restless legs but couldn't do anything about it because I couldn't lift my leg. The anesthesiologist probably thought I was nuts by asking him to touch and lift my feet. I just wanted to make sure they were still there.

It only took my doctor about 6 minutes to get my little munchkin out and then he went to Daddy and the nurses. I was left all by my lonesome to be stitched up. Although the sonogram I had taken two weeks ago said he would be over 9 pounds at delivery, he was only 8 lbs. 8 oz. He has lost 6 oz. already after one day. But the boy can poop and pee like a champ so I'm not worried :)

I'm doing great and it has been wonderful seeing my little girl fall in love with her baby brother. She came to see him yesterday afternoon and they exchanged presents on his birthday. She has declared several times that she "loves her dolphin!" (Porter's gift to her).

He looks exactly like his Daddy, couldn't ask for better genes! We're excited to have him with us and look forward to a fun and adventurous future with 2 kids!

Another angel for Blake and me...
Someone knitted these adorable Santa's hats for the babies. He is a beautiful child.

I always like to see a picture of the Mama with her baby, but be very warned... it looks like I got beat up with a bat! An air bubble got into my shoulder during the surgery, my eye swole up, and I hadn't had any sleep in quite some time. In combination with my pale face I kind of scare myself :)

We may have a problem with someone stealing Porter's pacifiers... Molly declared this her green monster bee-bee. Well, right now this is the least of my worries. I'll work on it when life returns to normal. Does it ever return to normal?? (I am asking my friends and family with 2+ babies for input here :)

Molly gave Porter a present (zebra--she informed him that this was his favorite animal about a week ago) and Porter gave Molly a present (stuffed Dolphin--her favorite). She had fun opening presents and celebrating his birthday.

Helping Hands:)

I know that this isn't a very clear picture, but I had to post it because it has the cutest story! Molly and Kaiya had gymnastics as usual together and their routine included walking on the beam. This is a very spooky thing for both of them, but Molly had a new found sense of adventure and walked the line by herself. Kaiya began to shake a little as Miss Diane let go of her hand and encouraged her to do it herself. When she stood frozen at the end of the beam Miss Diane called for Molly. My kid had gotten distracted and was simply standing in the middle of the beam watching another class. But as soon as she saw Kaiya stranded on the other end she went over to help Kaiya face her fears. She took Kaiya's hand and they helped eachother down the beam. I love watching them care for one another. What good friends!

Decorating the Tree

This was the first year that Molly was able to help decorate the tree. Now, I didn't say that she was helpful in decorating the tree because I had to replace every ornament she hung, but it was a fun evening. These are the moments that you catalog in your mind and never forget.

Although this picture turned out blurry, I love it... had to post it.
