He's Finally Here!

Well, I know I complained and complained about how this day would never come, but it finally did! Can you believe it? Time actually DOES move when you're pregnant!

Porter Blake Brady
December 17, 2009 8:27 AM
8 lbs. 8 oz. 20.5 inches

We went into the hospital at 6 AM and started paperwork, IVs, etc. At eight they took me back into the O.R. and started my spinal... not so comfortable, but definitely necessary. I hated the tingling sensation that lasted about 15 minutes before it fully kicked in. It felt like I had restless legs but couldn't do anything about it because I couldn't lift my leg. The anesthesiologist probably thought I was nuts by asking him to touch and lift my feet. I just wanted to make sure they were still there.

It only took my doctor about 6 minutes to get my little munchkin out and then he went to Daddy and the nurses. I was left all by my lonesome to be stitched up. Although the sonogram I had taken two weeks ago said he would be over 9 pounds at delivery, he was only 8 lbs. 8 oz. He has lost 6 oz. already after one day. But the boy can poop and pee like a champ so I'm not worried :)

I'm doing great and it has been wonderful seeing my little girl fall in love with her baby brother. She came to see him yesterday afternoon and they exchanged presents on his birthday. She has declared several times that she "loves her dolphin!" (Porter's gift to her).

He looks exactly like his Daddy, couldn't ask for better genes! We're excited to have him with us and look forward to a fun and adventurous future with 2 kids!

Another angel for Blake and me...
Someone knitted these adorable Santa's hats for the babies. He is a beautiful child.

I always like to see a picture of the Mama with her baby, but be very warned... it looks like I got beat up with a bat! An air bubble got into my shoulder during the surgery, my eye swole up, and I hadn't had any sleep in quite some time. In combination with my pale face I kind of scare myself :)

We may have a problem with someone stealing Porter's pacifiers... Molly declared this her green monster bee-bee. Well, right now this is the least of my worries. I'll work on it when life returns to normal. Does it ever return to normal?? (I am asking my friends and family with 2+ babies for input here :)

Molly gave Porter a present (zebra--she informed him that this was his favorite animal about a week ago) and Porter gave Molly a present (stuffed Dolphin--her favorite). She had fun opening presents and celebrating his birthday.

You look good after having the baby !!! :) life will be crazy - but do ask for help. I didn't have much help after I had aila and it was hard. Life will get easier after 2 or 3 months.

I'm not just saying this because you are my BFF, you really look beautiful. You also get an A+ for humility. Good idea on the gift exchange. Check that for the future, and last but not least, he is absolutely adorable. Congrats Brady Family! I wish I was there to help.

Man he's cute!

Congratulations! These are great pictures megan.
Life will never be the same again..so I guess the 'normal' you're talking about doesn't comes back. Don't worry. You'll find a new, slightly more chaotic normal in no time ;)

I love new mama pics too. The paler and more tired looking the better. Shows the true journey it took to get that little baby here. The pics with make up and looking fresh just look fake.

He's a cutie and I love that someone knitted santa hats. How sweet is that?!

What a beautiful little boy, I can't wait to hold him. Molly looks so cute holding her new baby brother. Breanna is totally right, you find a new normal, and life is good. Love you, can't wait to see you and little Porter.

Oh, yeah, he weighed exactly what Quinn did when he was born!

SOOOOO CUTE! Way to go! Molly is a natural sister and you are going to be a fabulous mommy of two!

Remember when I got the post-partum crazies and I called you and you talked me through it?

If you get a little crazy this time, feel free to call me (or just to say hi). 801-930-5586

Congrats! He is so beautiful! And what a cute name. The only advice that I have (with 2 kids) is that you need an extra 30 minutes more to get another kid out of the house. We have been 30 minutes late to everything so far. I'm sure we are driving our family crazy... let us know if you need anything!

He's adorable and I love the name. Congratulations. What a great Christmas gift!
By the way, life never goes back to normal after adding a second child. :) At least it hasn't for us yet and Layna is almost 9 months. The more the merrier right?

HE is so adorable! Congratulations. You will love being a mom of two. Hold onto this little guy while he's tiny because the second one grows up way faster than the first! WE are so happy for you.
